I don't think that it is right time to withdrawal the combat troops!!!!

"Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility" (Obama)  In Iraq war, since 2003, American soldiers are saperated from their families and some of them could't come back to their home. Huge amouunt of Money spent during the war. After all USA effords in the area, Iraq started to transform from monarchy to democracy. People in iraq had their army, their elected governemnt and they learnt the freedom. Even if, a lot of things changed in the country, there are a lot of things are still in process. Obama's made a logical decision, but it is early for now.

It is like; a teacher starting to teach to students, but he is telling students, after a moment, it is their responsibility to understand, learn and experience the topic and he is leaving the students lonely in the classroom. The USA is a teacher  of the Iraq and I think that he is leaving his student lonely early.

I think that terrorist attacks in Iraq supporting my idea. For example, over 100 people died and injuring 350, in attacks in Iraq in 2010 and it is the highest death toll for a single day. The USA needs to stay in the Iraq until Iraq becomes ready for governing themselves.

You may say that There are going to be USA soldiers to advise them but I don't think that it is enough. We will see what is going to happen!!!!! Obama's decision will make him a hero or one of the bad presidents. I hope he is doing the right thing because I know that he is a smart person.

  1. Faith,

I am going to have to completely disagree with you. Since 2003,the United States has spent $781 billion dollars on its imperialistic war with Iraq. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, and Saddam Hussein was never linked with Al Qaeda. With the capture and killing of Saddam, the Iraqi people are now less free, and women have it the worst. The vacuum created by brutally hanging Saddam left room for extremist to now infiltrate the country. Many republicans, and some hawkish democrats will say that the world is a better place without Saddam. But is it? Not even close. There are more people dying, little to no infrastructure in the country, no water, and in the sweltering heat, the electricity used to power the AC is on for barely a few hours a day.

Your example of a teacher helping his students is ironic in many ways. First off, if this teacher was helping his students for seven years, and they were still unable to get it...then shame on the students. Seven years wasted by the "teacher" could have been spent on helping many other students. Not to mention, that while we were spending this $781 billion dollars (and you can add billions more when you calculate the health costs) we were cutting teaching jobs here in the US. So the fact that these "students" had a "teacher" is miraculous!

And I will say to you, that the Iraqis will not be left out to dry, like the first Bush did. There will be advisors and diplomats abound to ensure the Iraqis can make a peaceful transition.

More than 4,000 soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice for an imperialistic war that was based on nothing more than a lie from the Bush Administration. These soldiers will never see their family again. These families will never see their loved one again. And for what? At what cost? Well...$781 billion dollars, and a country that is worse off than when we entered seven years ago.

I strongly urge you to reconsider your thoughts on the subject.

  2. Thank you very much for your comment.

There are nine different ethnic groups in Iraq. Saddam was controlling these ethnic groups by using violation to them. I know people who are from Iraq that their family members killed by Saddam's soldiers. I am not saying that Saddam was doing right thing. He was killing people to control area. After USA invaded the country, these groups were still under control. Even if they were willing to establish their own countries like Kurdistan, or Turkomen's wishes to unite with Turkey, USA was preventing any civil war. I am calling this as civil war because They would kill each other for their wishes. Saddam was preventing any separation, ,and after 2003 USA started to prevent any wars between ethnic or religious groups. There have been conflict in these groups but we can not call them civil war.

The numbers you are giving like "$781 billion dollars, 4,000 soldiers are true". I strongly agree what you are saying. As you said, Iraq became worst. Pin point is; Iraq is in a bad condition when USA troops are in. can you guaranty me that civil war is not going to happen tomorrow after main USA troops left the country. Kurdish, Turks, Arabs, sia and sunnies are not going to fight each other. I don't want to imagine what happens If a civil war occurs in Iraq. My point is, the USA has to stay in the country until we trust the Iraq's government and Iraq's Army.

Your are saying that Iraq became worst and USA wasted its money. $27 trillion valued oil can make the money $781 billion which was spend during the war pointless.

I don't want an American soldier to die overseas and I don't want them to separated from their families too. BUT It was the USA's responsibility to think about these before 2003. however, once you enter a country to make change on something, you must finish it. otherwise, uncompleted works make things worst and worst.

I am praying my God that I am going to be wrong and Iraq government and army will control the country. Otherwise, we might see more wars, conflicts, and deaths in Iraq.
I am not urging you to change you ideas which are true. I am urging you to think about the future of the Iraq after USA MAIN troops left the country.

  3. Faith,

I have to say that I dissagree with you on some of your arguments. First, I disagree on the fact that you said President Obama is realeasing the troops "too early." We have been fighting this pointless war for 7 years brother, 7 years. It is time that the Iraqi people take control of their own government. The USA can not govern itself and Iraq at the same time, we have duties to serve here as well. And I am sure that most Iraqis feel that it is not the choice of an American to decide what will happen to Iraq. The Iraqi people have to decide that for themeselves, and for their own country.

Second, I agree with what Ryan said above about your example with a teacher. It makes absolutely no sense to blame a teacher that has been helping a student out for seven years, and the student still has no clue what is going on. Consider my example: lets say your taking a math course. You fail the first semester, second, and maybe even third. You might be able to get away with failing a class three times by assigning blame to a teacher, but if you fail a class for 7 years in a row, you would have to be insane to blame that on any teacher. So my friend I do disagree with what you say, and I'am siding with our president on this one. It is now time for the Iraqi people to have lead responsibility over their OWN country. And to implement policies that will install strict polices that will make people think twice before they engage in any civil war.

  4. I would definitely have to agree with you as well, since the U.S. has been there we have spent billions of dollars on a pointless war. We went there under the false assumptions by the Bush administration that Iraq carried weapons of mass destruction, and yet we still have not found any evidence. The only good thing that has came out of this is that we were able to bring down the Saddam regime and now that we have done that the people are now able to take control of Iraq and no longer have to follow a dictatorship. I am sure that the Iraqis would agree that the U.S. has caused enough damage and has been there long enough. Our soldiers have suffered enough deaths and injuries and it is time for this pointless war to come to an end. What benefit of continuously staying over there? The U.S. is in tremendous debt because of it and U.S. soldiers are being killed everyday. It is time to bring our soldiers home.
